Crisis Services

We want to inform you of an important change in how we provide crisis services from CCEA. Effective December 2, 2024, our crisis response services will be transitioning to the Emergency Department at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Elliot Lake.

The Counselling Centre of East Algoma offers comprehensive Crisis Intervention Services to support individuals in urgent situations who cannot wait for a scheduled counselling appointment. This service is specifically designed for those who are feeling unsafe or are in immediate distress. The Centre’s Crisis Intervention team works to provide a wrap-around service, ensuring that individuals receive immediate assistance and are connected to the right resources.

In addition to crisis support, the Centre provides case management services, helping individuals navigate their personal challenges by coordinating care and connecting them with long-term support systems. These services are tailored to meet the needs of those facing complex and multifaceted issues, ensuring a holistic approach to mental health and wellbeing.

By offering this crucial service, the Counselling Centre of East Algoma aims to create a safer and healthier community, where individuals can receive the urgent care and ongoing support they need in times of crisis.
