Partner Assault Response Program
Welcome to the Partner Assault Response (PAR) Program.
The PAR program is a specialized education/counselling program for individuals who have been charged with a domestic violence offence and mandated to attend through the Crown Attorney’s Office or Probation & Parole.
In Ontario, PAR programs are often part of the Domestic Violence Court Program. This initiative provides coordinated criminal justice system response to domestic violence.
Facts about PAR
The PAR program is offered to all genders who have been mandated to attend the program,
The program is offered on an individual or group session,
This is a minimum 10 week program,
Assessments are sent to the Crown Attorney’s Office and/or Probation & Parole upon completion,
There may be a fee for participating - which will be discussed during your intake/assessment

For those who have abused
We believe that most PAR clients would like to be healthy, respectful and caring partners. However, we realize that sometimes you don’t act that way.
The PAR program staff are professionals who will treat you with respect. At the same time, we will challenge you to take accountability and responsibilities for your actions.
For those who have been abused
For victims of abuse, we offer PARTNER CONTACT services. If your current or former partner is attending the program you will get:
A minimum four contacts with a PAR staff during the program, if you wish,
Help with safety planning
Information on how the PAR program works
A phone call if program staff ever have any concerns about your safety
